Walukuba Group (C)

Ruth Mirembe (center) is the leader of this sub-group. For the past three years Ruth's business is roasting and packaging ground nuts which she then sells to local kiosks. She is requesting a loan to increase the production of her packaging business. Also in her lending group is Florence Tweny, Betty Lawino, Colline Odongo, and Margaret Masaba. Florence supplies handcrafts to local businesses. Betty is a 'posho' miller and is the supplier of posho to Jinja Secondary School. She is requesting a loan to increase her supply of posho to maximize her profit during the dry season. Colline is a tailor and wants a loan to boost her tailoring business. Margaret runs a stationary shop in Jinja Town and wants a loan to create more capital opportunities to better run her business. The group hopes that a loan will help them to pay their children's school fees, expand their businesses, and help to employ other needy people. All of the group members have received loans previously and paid back on time.
